*Technology CoordinatorJob Description, Responsibilities and DutiesReports
to: SuperintendentFLSA Status: Exempt, Contract: 240 Days with benefits,
Salary: Negotiable *
*Responsibilities:* The following skills and duties are representative of
performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable

- Provides leadership to determine the relevance of technological
advances. Works with administrators and staff to periodically review and
revise the district’s continuous improvement plan as it relates to
technology.
- Implements the district’s technology plan. Develops a strategy to
implement identified priorities within specified timelines. Ensures that
the apportionment of technology resources is equitable throughout the
district.
- Develops and recommends policies governing the applications and use of
educational technology.
- Ensures compliance with all licensing agreements. Serves as a contact
for vendors. Maintains a library of product information and current
catalogs.
- Regularly advises the superintendent and administrative team about
emerging issues.
- Coordinates and/or provides ongoing technology training and support
programs for staff.
- Oversees the preparation of reports, records, and inventories required
by law, district policy, and/or administrative directive. Protects the
confidentiality of privileged information. Ensures that all reports are
submitted on time.
- Prepares budget recommendations that maintain the highest quality of
service attainable within available financial resources.
- Recommends and coordinates the purchase of new equipment and software
based on substantiated instructional and administrative needs. Includes
receiving, inspecting, installing and testing.
- Prepares technology research and development grant proposals.
Administers grants. Prepares and disseminates reports as directed.
- Prepares competitive bid specifications.
- Works with the maintenance department on construction/installation
needs. Installs computer network wiring and connections (e.g., servers,
hubs, routers, etc.). Installs or provides assistance installing classroom
equipment.
- Oversees the preservation of the district's technology equipment.
Recommends rules and operating procedures to ensure the proper use and care
of technology resources. Works with administrators to address equipment
security.
- Sets up and maintains file servers (e.g., users and groups, space
allocations, backups, etc.) for local area networks (LAN) and wide area
networks (WAN).
- Discards outdated or nonfunctional equipment following approved
procedures for the disposal of fixed assets. Maintains a salvage pool of
useful parts.
- Responds to staff requests regarding technological modifications that
support the attainment of educational goals for identified students with
disabilities.
- Strives to develop rapport with staff. Responds to requests and
complaints promptly and tactfully.
- Offers and accepts constructive suggestions diplomatically. Respects
the personal confidences and privacy needs of individuals.
- Monitors and administers special local, state, and Federal technology
programs and initiatives.
- Serves as the district liaison for instructional technology to
supporting organizations (e.g., data acquisition sites, OILTS, OECN, FCC,
etc.).
- Prepares and maintains technology equipment throughout the year.
Ensures that technology equipment is ready at the beginning of the school
year. Properly stores and/or monitors the storage of equipment at the end
of the school year.
- Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.

pressure, and maintain and demonstrate a sense of humor, humility, and
empathy. Passive-aggressive conduct, backstabbing, gossiping, and similar
conduct is negative and counterproductive to not only the educational
experience but also the workplace experience. It is your responsibility to
set an example of appropriate, professional, and respectful workplace and
adult conduct for the students. You are as much a role model as an educator.
*Working Conditions: *Exposure to the following conditions may range from
remote to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be
predictable.
- Potential for exposure to blood borne pathogens and communicable
diseases.
- Interaction with disruptive and/or unruly individuals.
- Exposure to student exuberance and commotion.
- Duties may involve extended time using a computer and keyboard.
- Duties may involve considerable phone contact and paperwork.
- Duties may involve working under time constraints to meet deadlines.
- Duties may involve working during the evening and/or weekend.
