Position:              Assistant to the Treasurer - Payroll

Employer:            West Muskingum Local School District

Minimum
Qualifications:
*        Two year college degree in finance/accounting preferred. Equivalent experience will be reviewed.
*        Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
*        Computer skills including, but not limited to; Microsoft Excel, Word, Uniform School Payroll System (state software) and staff portion of EMIS.
*        Ability to direct and work well with other personnel while maintaining confidential information.
Basic
Responsibilities:
*        Calculate and process semi-monthly payroll.
*        Process/report all periodic (monthly, quarterly, annually) tax returns and statements.
*        Maintain personnel database.
*        Generate employment contracts and salary notices
*        Maintain staff portion of EMIS data.
*        Manage all employee deductions including, but not limited to, medical/dental insurance, flexible spending accounts and tax sheltered annuities.
*        Work with State Auditors in providing requested information.
*        Prepare/provide information needed for GAAP conversion.
*        Additional responsibilities as assigned by Treasurer.
