[Mail_treas] Software Update Installed

Hello,

We received the software update for the RETIRE programs and it is now installed.

We hope this will fix the problems some of you encountered when an employee paid into both retirement systems, but they would not show up on both tape files. Make sure that you carefully review your reports each step of the way while creating the tape files for both retirement systems. Please let us know if you notice any problems.

Subject: SERSREG Fix Update and File Transfer

Hello,

We received a message this morning from the State Software Team, they have created a fix for the problems we have encountered with the software. We are not exactly sure when it will be available, but if we get it today, we hope to have it installed over the weekend. I will keep you updated on the progress of the software fix.

You can run RETIRE, but check over your reports very carefully. You should compare SERSREG and STRSREG to the DEDRPT and also compare them to the previous payroll SERSREG and STRSREG reports. Once you have verified that everything is correct you may want to wait for the new software fix to be installed before you create your tape files.

If you cannot wait for the software fix to be installed and you have employees paying into both retirement systems, MVECA will need to reset those specific employees after you run one of the tape files so that they will then show up on the next tape file. Please send us the name and check/direct deposit number of those employees that will need reset.

One new item: once you have created the .seq file for SERS, you need to include "ocen$dta:" before the file name when using the File Transfer Tool. This will allow you to successfully transfer the file out of the payroll system. Please see the example below:
