[Mail_treas] Year leave

Hello,

We have a part-time psych who qualifies for medical insurance but DOES NOT
work enough hours to qualify for FMLA.  She wants to take a year leave to
care for her ailing parent and use her accumulated sick leave to be paid
during this time. We do not have anything in our union contracts or board
policy for paid leave of absence outside of FMLA.  We did check with our
legal counsel but do not completely agree with his logic.

Have any of you had this issue? Do you have policy for paid leaves of
absence that do not qualify for FMLA?  Any input would be appreciated.
