Good Friday morning!

I just received good news from the State Software Development Team that districts will not need to file their own Ohio State Tax or RITA.   We, MVECA, will do that as we have done in the past!  We will append all of our schools to a single file and submit to the Social Security Administration and Ohio. If you requested a file for RITA or CCA, we will be able to do that, too.

I believe you will be able to complete reconciliation forms, IT-3 and Form 17 for RITA and CCA on each entities website.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!!

We were informed in November that the state tax department changed their specifications for W2 submissions.  The new submission is electronic.  The assumption was that we would still be able to submit for all of our districts appended to a single file.  We just received notice that districts will need to submit their own file using the Ohio Business Gateway (OBG).  Please login to the OBG and see if you have access to Upload W2s.  It should be listed at the bottom of Employer Withholding.  If you do not see W2-Upload, you must request access.   The deadline for filing is January 31st.   You need to request the access ASAP.

We will take the W2TAPE file you created and add the needed W3 information and send it to you via Liquid Files for you to submit.

RITA is now requiring that any district that files 250 or more W2's will now need to file their data electronically. They, too, will not let us submit one file for all of our districts.  We will create the file, send it to you and you will submit the W2s.  They will no longer accept data on CD's or USB drives.

Please login to the OBG and confirm that you have the needed access to do W2 reporting.

We will provide additional information once we are able to test this.
