[Mail_treas] Lenovo Chromebook Issue

Good morning.

Last Friday I was informed through our Lenovo Channel Partner that our long
ago placed order for Chromebooks was going to have to be cancelled and a
new order placed for new model numbers - with a price increase from $179 a
machine to $235 per machine.

This past weekend, I had a conversation with Gov. Dewine about the issue
and he agreed this was "crazy". I have been made aware of the fact that
other districts may have been caught up in this as well, and tech directors
notified last Friday based on activity in their technology director forum.

I had a conference call this morning with Lenovo's North American PR team
and executives. They have resolved my issue and will honor the previously
agreed to pricing. I got two more asks that might be of interest to you:

1. They are going to review all orders and prioritize filling K-12
educational orders in Ohio, as they now clearly understand the impact of us
needing machines to educate students.

2. They are going to review all orders and hold existing pricing for K-12
in Ohio.

I'm unsure who may be impacted by this, but if your district is, I would
encourage you to contact your Lenovo Channel Partner you ordered from, and
start the dialogue on being made whole on pricing. This came straight from
Corporate, so not all of their channel partners are aware of it, as it is
just over an hour old.

I wanted you to be made aware so that you can potentially take advantage of
the savings, if they tried to take advantage of your district.

Have a great day!
