[Mail_treas] USPS Blended Overtime Calculator

Good Afternoon,
We wanted to share a new feature that was added to USPS, BLENDED OVERTIME CALCULATOR.  It is located in UTILITIES.

The blended overtime calculator is a tool to assist in calculating an employee's blended overtime amount.
Step 1:  Select an employee from the drop down, then click FIND EMPLOYEE

Step 2:   in the Compensations field, click on the down arrow and select the compensation to be included and then click on '+ Add Compensation Entry'. Once the Positions are selected, they will appear in the grid below. You are able to select a compensation multiple times to be included in the grid.

The rate that is listed for each Position is determined by the Compensation UNIT AMOUNT.
*If the Compensation>Pay Unit is set to Hourly, then that is the Rate listed.
* If the Compensation>Pay Unit is set to Daily, then the Rate is calculated by Unit Amount/Hours in Day.

*In the Total Hours fields, enter the appropriate number of hours worked for each Position.
*Verify the Rate values and update if needed.
*The Weekly Gross amount will automatically populate. This amount is calculated by the Rate X Total Hours. The Total Hours and Overtime Hours will then be calculated and displayed in the fields below.

If needing to clear the Total Hours and Weekly Gross and set the values back to 0.00, click 'Reset'.

If needing to delete a row in the grid, click on X = Delete

Step 3: Click Calculate Overtime Premium and the following values will populate with the appropriate calculated value
Regular Blended Rate
Straight Pay
           Overtime Premium
Total Pay

The boxes are calculated as follows:

  *   Regular Blended Rate: Total Gross/Total Hours --> $2580.00/47 = $54.89
  *   Straight Pay: Total Gross -->$2100.00 + 480.00 = $2580.00
  *   Overtime Premium: Overtime Premium Rate (0.5 × Regular Blended Rate) X Overtime Hours --> (0.5 × $54.89) × 7 = $192.13
  *   Total Pay: Straight Pay + Overtime Premium-->$2580.00 + $192.13 = $2772.13

Using Payroll Payments - Future or Current, enter the payment details.
