[Mveca_usps] SERSHIRE and STRSHIRE

Hello,

Just a friendly reminder that these 2 new programs are available for you when you have new enrollments to the retirement systems.  You can continue to enroll each new employee on the respective websites OR you can create a file of all new employees to mass enroll them in the retirement system.

SERSHIRE works slightly different than STRSHIRE.

SERSHIRE when executed as ACTUAL:

-          will create a file that you will transfer to a local drive and upload to SERS website, http://www.ohsers.org/member-enrollment

-          will change the New Employee flag on the 400 deduction to R.  It will be changed to N when SERSREG is executed to create a tape file.

STRSHIRE when executed as ACTUAL:

-           will create a tape file that you will send to STRS using the STRSHSEND command

-          Will change the New Employee flag on the 450 deduction to R.  You must execute STRSMONTH to change the New Employee flag on the 450 deduction to N.
