Hi all
There is an issue with the student manifest and students expelled with instruction
Here is a ticket I found in the EMIS Help desk when Peggy called


Expulsion reporting - FS errors- Posted on August 30th.
Description
Toledo is getting a level one fatal error for Expelled student receiving services - they believe they are coding per the new manual instructions
FS.0024 - If instruction is provided, Percent of Time must be greater - Check Student Percent of Time (FS120), District Relationship (FS140), Sent Reason 1 (FS200), and Sent Re
FS.0036 - Sent Reason 1 Value Cannot Have Sent Percent - Check Sent Reason 1 (FS200) and Sent To Percent of Time 1 (FS220) values

Guide indicates - Reporting Instructions. When a student is expelled, report Sent Reason option EX and Sent To
IRN 999999. If the student is not receiving education or services during the expulsion, report 0 for Sent to
Percent of Time and option 3 for District Relationship. If the student is receiving education or services
during the expulsion, report the appropriate value for Sent to Percent of Time and option 1 for District
Relationship.

They are reporting District Relationship = 1
Sent 1 = EX
Sent 1 IRN = 999999
Sent 1 Percent of Time = 100

(their normal percent of time field is 0 zero)

So should the guide really indicate reporting sent 1 percent of time if the student is receiving instruction rather than the
regular percent of time or does an adjustment need to be made to the manifest/collection?

Answer

Sam - Sent Reason option EX should have been excluded from validations FS.0024, FS.0036 and FS.0038. The changes have been made to the manifest and is currently in QA for testing. Updated manifests will be posted soon.
