*Qualifications:*
The qualities and characteristics desired for the leader of the Liberty
Local School District are, in part, identified below and in alignment with
the Ohio Superintendent Standards.

The Superintendent will:

·         Articulate a vision of effectiveness and achievement for the
district.

·         Create a culture that supports continuous improvement throughout
the district.

·         Identify and articulate roles and responsibilities of the
superintendent, board of education and district treasurer.

·         Work with board of education to sustain a focus on district goals.

·         Create communication systems that allow for immediacy of
messaging, reaching targeted audiences, and maintaining ongoing and open,
two-way communications with targeted internal and external audiences.

·         Set a limited number of measurable, focused goals that reflect
high expectations for improved student achievement and classroom
instruction.

·         Engage the district staff in the process and responsibility of
achieving district goals.

·         Develop and maintain relationships and communicate with elected
officials and other policy makers, and key business and community groups.

·         Confirm the district’s curriculum is aligned with state standards
and an ongoing evaluation of enrichment/prevention/intervention strategies
is systematically implemented.

·         Create processes to accurately monitor the implementation of the
district’s curriculum, instruction and assessment.

·         Identify and support effective instructional practices and
innovation based on research and data.

·         Experience and background in marketing and branding of district
assets and identity upholding the quality and reputation of the district.

·         Delegate and leverage resources to promote efficient use of
resources, including professional development for all staff.

·         Demonstrate an understanding of and effective processes for
leading levy campaigns and fundraising efforts.

·         Demonstrate organization and efficiency in serving as the
district’s chief executive officer.

·         Inspire community confidence.

·         Communicate effectively on both public and private levels.

·         Lead the board in goal setting and planning.

·         Possess a sense of vision as an educational leader.

·         Persuade others to share a vision-mission for the school district
including building commitments and motivating others to work toward defined
goals.

·         Effectively apply leadership to an educational setting.


*Requirements:*
The Board of Education will consider applications from individuals who:

·         Hold an Ohio superintendent’s certificate or license (or
satisfactory evidence of eligibility).

·         Previous superintendent experience preferred and/or experience in
various school administrative roles.

·         Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in budgeting and school
finance.



*Contract & Timeline:*
The Board of Education will offer salary, benefits and an initial contract
commensurate with education and experience. Salary is expected to be
competitive with similar area school districts.

This timeline may be modified at the discretion of the Board.
