[Mail_supt] Bus Driver insurance

Bus drivers hired prior to July 1, 2014 receive medical, dental and vision with the board paying 88%.  Drivers hired after July 1, 2014 have to work 30 hours a week on average to qualify for insurance, and most of them don’t.

We pay a full hourly wage for everything except athletic field trips.  Those are $15.00 for the first four hours, and $10.00 for any hours after.

A driver’s typical day is 5 hours.

I am trying to look at compensation packages for bus drivers.  If possible, can you please share the following information:

1.  What percentage of insurance does your board cover for bus drivers?

2.  How many hours is their typical day?

3.  Hourly wages for driving/waiting/ or combined....
