[Mail_treas] Signing Bonus Question

Vickie,
According to what I see in the STRS handbook Payment for any services
actually not rendered are excluded from compensation for retirement
purposes. SERS has the same language, but specify that signing bonuses are
excluded from compensation consideration.
So from what I am seeing it does not appear that these are subject to
retirement withholding.
For definitive clarification you may want to contact the retirement
entities directly, the statements I listed above are taken out of their
handbooks.
