[Mveca_usps] W2 Control Number order

Good Afternoon,

After too much conversation with SSDT, they have now provided clarification how the various W2 forms will display the control number.
Please ready their message below.
Please remember when you are generating your W2 Individual Archive AND W2 Mailable forms, to select DEFAULT as the Save and Recall option AND select the same sort option that you used for your Submission file.

Here's how the various W2 Report and Submission options are sorted:

  *   Report - will be sorted in Medicare/Non-Medicare order, then sorted by sort order selected in the input screen.
  *   Submission (Creates submission file as a .txt) - will be sorted in Medicare/Non-Medicare order, then sorted by sort order selected in the input screen.
  *   Individual Archive Forms - NOT in Medicare/Non-Medicare order (just the sort order selected in the input screen).
  *   Mailable- NOT in Medicare/Non-Medicare order (just the sort order selected in the input screen).

State Software follows the EFW2 (Specifications for Filing Forms W-2 Electronically) filing specifications. I've included the link to that information here<https://www.ssa.gov/employer/efw/24efw2.pdf#zoom=100>. If you review these specifications, you will see the control number is not included in submission files.
